from personal experience, most walkers are friendly, amiable sorts who usually go out of their way, with a few exceptions, to come over and ask about your day, and tell you about theirs. Maybe the answer then is that it’s about getting into the wild, breathing the fresh clear air and feeling

Mainly moody - the hills, not me ! - up Shee of Ardtalnaig today. The peat hags were solid under foot, making for easy walking. The Bual a' Claidheimh cleft was impressive. #Grahams #LochTay The less dramatic side of Lochnagar today looking a bit more white than it was on the ground. In this ever crazy world, todays combination of mountains, blue sky and sun did warm the soul rather nicely though. 😊Sad goodbye to the #snow, because most of the UK will be trading it in for #rain. Chilly this evening, but #milder and more unsettled conditions taking over through the week...

  1. Braemar in Aberdeenshire has fallen to -14.4C. Not only is this the lowest temperature this winter, but it's the lowest temperature in the UK since 2012! #Brrrr

  2. My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
    My heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;
    Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe,
    My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go. #Burnsnight
