Associated with the Murray family, the ruins of Castle Cluggy and the later Ochtertyre House overlook Loch Monzievaird within 275 ha (680 acres) of designed parkland which was laid out in the 18th C.
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήOchtertyre House was built in 1784-90 for Sir William Murray (1746 - 1800) on a south-facing slope, and represents a fine mansion of three storeys and an attic with a central pediment and two-storey bow. It was used as a hospital during the First World War and became a venue for theatrical performances in the 1970s. More recently it has become the home of Stagecoach bus group millionaire Brian Souter (b.1954) and is now A-listed.
